The Office That Built Me: A Home Office with Heart.
A cozy home office with heart, filled with memories and meaning.

If you walked into my home office, you might notice it doesn’t follow a single design rule — and that’s exactly what I love about it.
It’s equal parts structure and story: built-ins lined with color and meaning, framed diplomas beside worn red clogs, and small reminders of where I’ve been. Every shelf holds a piece of my life — moments that carried me from who I was to who I am now.
This room isn’t about following trends or chasing perfection. It’s where I keep the reminders of why I started — and how far I’ve come. A reflection of the work, the love, and the lessons that built me.
The Nursing Chapter

On one shelf sits my grandmother’s nursing cap — a nod to the roots of this calling — and a pair of red clogs, a gift from my stepdad.
He once told me, “Every woman needs a pair of red shoes.”
When I graduated, he tucked money into my card with a note to buy new shoes to start my career. He passed away the following week.
Those red clogs walked miles of hospital floors and stood witness to everything in that first year of nursing. He was right there with me, cheering me on through every shift.
They’ve earned their place beside the cap — not because they’re worn, but because they carry love stitched into every step.
Heart Corners and Hidden Stories

Some of my favorite things in this room aren’t decorative at all.
There’s a jar filled with old badges and pins, a mug that reminds me, Actually, I can, and makes me smile on long days, and reminders of the people who cheer me on outside of the hospital.
Those small touches ground me. They remind me that my identity isn’t limited to my profession — it’s layered with love, humor, and quiet encouragement that gets me through the hard days.
Books That Built Me
The shelves tell another story too — one of curiosity and growth.
Atomic Habits sits beside Leaders Eat Last, and just a few spines over, You Are a Badass leans against The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
It’s a lineup that mirrors my life: part structure, part surrender. The professional and the personal sitting side by side — proof that ambition and self-awareness can coexist.
A few of those books—and the little things that make my workspace feel like me—are linked in my Amazon list. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases, but I only share products I genuinely love and use.
The Meaning in the Mix

But beyond the things that speak to my work and growth are the ones that speak to my heart.
On one shelf sits a small collection of stories in plain sight:
The toy ambulance that once sat on my dad’s shelf.
The stethoscope that rested at his bedside the night I heard his last heartbeat.
The LEGO motorcycle my son built with his own hands.
The handful of rocks my grandson calls his treasures.
A note from my daughter that simply says, Have a great day at work. I love you.
Each piece represents a role I hold — sister, mom, daughter, Gigi — all the versions of me that exist beyond the scrubs, the blog, and the to-do lists.
Together, they form a quiet mosaic of the people and moments that have shaped my life. It’s not curated for an audience. It’s not perfect.
But it’s real — and that’s enough.
Perfectly Imperfect: Home office with heart

Some see chaos, but I see curated.
This office isn’t meant to impress anyone. It’s meant to remind me of who I am — a nurse, a mom, a wife, a writer — and the moments that built each of those identities.
It’s where I write, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of myself that get buried in the busyness of everyday life.
It was never meant to be perfect — just mine.
A space stitched together with history, heart, and hope.
Every corner of this office reminds me that growth isn’t about changing who I am — it’s about honoring who I’ve been.
